Eight years ago today was one of the very best days of my life. I became a mother when we welcomed little Richard Taylor Jackson III into the world.
What a blessing Trey has been in our lives. He has a gentle heart and kind spirit. He is quick to say he loves you and is ready and willing to give out hugs and kisses. He knows right from wrong and nearly always makes the correct choice. He can recite the stories from the Book of Mormon like some children recite nursery tales. He has perfect faith. He is a wonderful big brother and helps when I ask. He is smart, handsome and funny too.
Happy #8! What a special birthday to celebrate. I am so excited about your decision to be baptized and know Saturday will become one of the treasured days of my life as I watch you enter the water with your dad. I will never have been as proud of you as I will be at that moment. Trey, I LOVE YOU!
Happy Birthday!
Love, Mom

I am crying because I just glimpsed that this moment for me is rushing and will be here before I know it.
Happy Birthday Trey!
p.s. I think many of the attributes you listed about Trey can be attributed to a great mom.
So, as I reading this I too started crying. I'm sure it was like yesterday you had Trey. Doesn't time go by so fast. I know the day that Mac makes the decision to be baptised will be here before I know it. So exciting.
You guys have raised a wonderful, loving, energetic boy. Hats off to you!
Good luck Trey!
I have to admit, it made me cry writing it. He's just a great kid and I need to be a better mom and appreciate him and these precious years I can share with him. Sometimes I just get caught up in the homework, messy room and the day to day chores. Because soon it'll be off to the MTC! (But not THAT soon!)
You're not old enough to have an 8 year old! I know we really are . . . but I'm in denial! I still remember when you stayed with us for JB's wedding and you were very pregnant with Trey. I know this is just around the corner for me too . . .
We received the darling invitation and are excited for his big day on Sat.
Man, I remember when Trey was just a little 18 mo old trying to kick a ball at Tom Sawyer park while Todd and Rich played tennis (and you were as big as a house with the FIRST set of twins). Time does fly...
I hope we get to see the invitations...and Cheryl, I disagree with Kristi (but am happy she is commenting) you were never big as a house even pregnant with twins.
Marcie,
Your invite is in the mail. It's not that great since I'm not that crafty, but it was a relief to get done and sent off.
Thanks for saying I wasn't too big. But near the end, my tummy was quite large. It's fun to look at photos and remember, but not have to relive it all. Wish you were closer so you could be with us on Saturday. It would complete the "old gang!"
Kristi,
You are a nut! Of course I remember that night. Trey was so little and yet it feels like yesterday. Now seven kids between us, you KNOW time has passed.
I do give you FULL credit for getting Matt his first light saber. Matt will be forever in your debt.
Yes, you are right. The girl who never thought she would go digital now can't imagine not having my camera because I use it EVERY day!
And of course I have to write THANK YOU for letting us crash at your house today. Oh my! 8 little people and only three adults. We were truly outnumbered.
Tiffany,
So great to see you at the zoo. Thanks for making it and having to wake up McKay. He's so cute. A little mini Tiffany. We can't wait to see Josh, Loie and Keenan too! The new memories keep coming!
Love you all!
Cheryl
And to Traci, if you read this. You were a LIFESAVER last night. You truly made Trey's birthday. (And for putting up with Matt and his little temper!)
Thank you for being such a wonderful person and friend! Love you!
Love,
Cheryl
