Farewell to the Rosenhans

Over the past decade, we have been blessed to have made our very best friends while here in Kentucky.  I never would have dreamed when Rich was accepted to medical school in Louisville back in the fall of 2000 that the next ten years would be filled with incredible people that would fast become life long friends and that we would share some of the greatest times of our lives and life changing experiences together.  I will always treasure the bond of friendship we found here in the Bluegrass and am always amazed at how quickly friends can feel like family.

Four years ago, during our first sacrament meeting in Tates Creek ward the bishop called on three new sisters in the ward to bear their testimonies.  I was one of those called to the stand and Tiffany Rosenhan was as well.  After the meeting we introduced ourselves and I felt an immediate connection with Tiffany.  To my delight, Rich really liked her husband Branden as well so we invited them over for dinner that week.  They were our first dinner guests in our new home and soon Branden was our kids doctor (he was here to complete a four year med/peds residency) and we didn't feel so alone here in Lexington.

Fast forward four years and the Rosenhan's now have two beautiful daughters and another little girl on the way (due in September).  Branden completed his residency and matched at the University of Utah for a three year pulmonology fellowship.

Tiffany and Branden bravely offered to watch our kids two years ago on Father's Day so Rich and I could travel to New Orleans for 36 hours so Rich could present at a radiology conference.

They are such wonderful people and we hated saying goodbye the night before they drove west, but know we'll see them soon in Utah.

The girls and the only doctor they've ever known!
Brynn, Savannah and Kaitlyn

Another of our dearest friends and constant lifesaver (I borrowed Ashlee's vacuum just this week!) are the Millars.  We realize how blessed we are to have friends like these who will help you whenever you ask, even if its at 2 AM.  I love both of these families.

The Rosenhans threw a little goodbye party at their home the night before they left.  We had pizza, drinks, all you can eat ice cream (I suppose we might have been helping them clean out their freezer) and they brought out the beloved slip and slide.  They have the perfect hill for such an event.

Thanks Branden and Tiffany for the memories!  We miss you already, but we will see you in Utah soon!

Happy Father's Day!
I love this picture of Rich and the kids.  We had been blessed with wonderful children and I am so lucky to share the responsibility of raising these little ones with my best friend.  Rich is such an amazing father and always puts our family first.  His life is busy, crazy and his time is never his own, and yet he is always there for us with love, attention, hugs, a listening ear and sound advice.  He is thoughtful, kind, sincere, honest, hard working, optimistic and handsome.  What a perfect mix!  I am blessed to share my life with him and the kids are lucky to have such an incredible example as their father.  We are lucky to call him ours!!  Love you Babe!
The kids made Father's Day cards in Primary.
I thought they turned out darling,
and I loved reading what they wrote about their dad.
Matt had a special surprise he had made for Rich at school and had kept it a secret for over a month!
He made a very cool coupon book and kept it in a hidden place.
