Matt the Motorboat!

Congrats to Matt who participated in his first swim meet tonight. He was very excited and ready to go. He swam the 25 meter freestyle and looked awesome. He jumped right in and kicked and kicked. It was like he had a little motor boat pushing him along. He grabbed on to the side to catch his breath a few times and then would get right back and swim, swim, swim. It was a close race and if it weren't for the unforeseen "I'm running out of breath so I'll swim towards the steps instead of the wall" it would have been hard to tell who would get the blue ribbon. Matt finished in 50.89 seconds and earned 3rd place and a white ribbon. Way to go Matt!

Josh swam the 25 meter free style and moved up to the third heat! He beat his best time yet again. He finished it a flash- just 36.00 seconds to earn 1st place and a blue ribbon. Now we have to get him to work on his endurance so he can go the length of the pool without grabbing the line to get a good breath. Great job Josh!

Trey swam two events, the 25 meter free style in 42.46 seconds, not quite his best but he never grabbed the line and earned 3rd place. He then swam his best event- 25 meter backstroke. He has great form and really glides along with the help of his long arm strokes. It was a very close race and Trey beat his best time with a fast 36.56 seconds and got 2nd place and a red ribbon.

They have one more swim meet this year, and then we'll have to look forward to the next three summers when the boys can swim for the Pirates. We are loving every minute of it all.

Go Pirates!
