Little Dribblers

One of the medical residents in our ward asked if they girls would be interested in playing soccer on a team with his daughter.  We weren't sure.  We had asked in the fall, but they had been wishy-washy in their answer and unless they were totally committed, I didn't want another event (headache) added into our lives.  When we asked again this spring, they were suddenly excited to play.  We signed them up, hit Dick's Sporting Goods for new pink gear and they counted down the day until their first practice.  The dad who asked if they wanted to play got roped into being the coach so six little girls in our ward could be on the same team.  They were thrilled when they found out they knew half the team before the practice began.  Their soccer league practices once a week and has a game on Saturday.  They play on two small fields without goalies and divide the team up so four players play on each field at the same time.  Lots of playing, little sitting on the sideline.  Sounds good to me.  The girls were so excited for their first practice.  They ran, worked on dribbling, kicking and passing the balls.  They loved every second of it.  And I thought they looked mighty cute doing it.  As Brynn would say, "Gooooo Soccer Girls!"
