Hats off to our ward's activities commitee for doing an outstanding job on our ward party. The theme was Medieval Nights. Each family was assigned to a kindgom and encouraged to wear the color or dress up as knights and ladies. They had a drawbridge to enter into the 4 kingdoms: yellow, red, blue and green.Josh happily wore his Star Wars cloak and loved the crown he found on the table. The girls got to wear their Halloween costumes once again. And I wore a peasant type outfit I got the day after Halloween at Target. You never know when those great deals will come in handy.
Matt wore various bits of things from the Halloween costume bins.He also REALLY loved the fried chicken they served and that we ate with our hands. I wasn't with him as he went through the line and was a bit horrified to see how much he actually took!
After the feast, they had each kindgom parade and then gave out costume awards. They had couple contests, points for the first person to find a certain something ($10 dollar bill, chapstick, cell phone, bandaid, diaper, binkie, etc.) and many other events. Rich was selected for the Tug O War. I was seriously worried he might get a real injury. Glad he walked away unscathed. The primary had a Tug O War against the bishopric. The kids handily won.Trey scored our green kingdom 10 points for being one of the final 4 kids in the musical chairs competition for all boys and girls ages 8-12.
And Josh and Matt did a find job in the stick horse race for kids ages 3-7. It was a fun and memorable night for all!

Matt is like a little Owen. There is always something exciting and hilarious to read about him. No wonder they both used to fight; they are so much alike. I love the plate of chicken. He is so cute and funny! It looks like you had a fun night. So glad.
What an amazing idea for a ward party! I am so impressed with people's hard work and ingenuity when it comes to these things. Two thumbs up!
Sounds like a fun ward party, and looks like you had fun.
