Cumberland Hills Catfish vs Pinnacle Pirates

Wednesday nights around here mean one thing: Swim meets. We battled the Catfish last week. It was fun because all the younger swimmers go to Veterans Park Elementary School with the boys, so Trey, Josh and Matt were able to see many of their school friends at the pool. I love the atmosphere, team spirit and pirate pride.
Trey's tattoo might have worn off, but the pirate mark was still there, loud and clear.
The Catfish brought along a few mascots too.Josh and Matt were ready for their freestyle swim. They were both in the same heat. This was Josh's first meet this year since he had a baseball game the week before.Matt was in lane 1. Josh was in lane 3.JoshMatt
They both did a great job. Matt took a second off him time and Josh (who's time was from the previous season) took off three seconds.Trey waits for his turn to swim his 25 meter freestyle race.Trey swam the same time as last week (23 seconds).Brynn chilled between events.Josh swam backstroke too.He took six seconds off his time from last summer.Trey swam backstroke too. There is a longer wait between backstroke and Trey's other two events. The older swimmers complete backstroke, the parents switch jobs between halves (every family is required to do four jobs during the season at meets), there are relay races and then the swimmers have the butterfly and breaststroke races. During our down time the girls ventured out to the playground for some fun.The boys passed the time playing their DS game systems. Every child between ages 6-10 seems to own one.Trey swam butterflyand breaststroke. I love his intensity in these two shots. I can tell he's trying to determine if he was disqualified. He was not.
Great job swimming guys! We love to watch you compete.
