Josh's last baseball game with his rookie Indians teams was back in June, but I failed to post the pictures. I had planned on doing that when he got his trophy, but then we went to Louisville instead of the awards ceremony and this post ended up at the bottom of the pile. Sorry Josh. I finally contacted his coach and we are hoping to get his trophy tomorrow night.
Josh had a great season. Sure, it lacked wins (one and only one win), but Josh played his best, stayed positive, improved his game and had a lot of fun playing first base. He hit well and got his first home run in rookie league.
We will greatly miss SEBB, the beautiful ball park that is within walking distance from our home and most of all the wonderful people who have become real friends. It has been a great opportunity for us to share the Gospel through our actions and I know people have respected our choices and can see the good that comes from them.
Warming up
Getting ready for the game to begin.
Staying cool with a HUGE freezer pop
Let's play ball!
I love this picture. The short stop and third baseman collided trying to catch a pop up. As soon as they hit, our third baseman threw his hand into the air proclaiming the catch! It was classic baseball.
Using his sunglasses to help see the ball instead of only seeing the setting sun.
SingleScore!
Zach was pleased with Josh's performance (or it might have been the popcorn he was enjoying).
Post game wrap up
The dudes
The coaches had all the boys come up that would be moving up to the next league in the fall. All the other team mates walked by and shook their hands.
One last team cheer, "Go Indians!"
Josh's coach gave Josh the final game ball. He said Josh was "the team captain and though he was quiet, he was a great example and leader."
Great job Josh!
