Three days until Christmas.
Two days until we fly out to Utah.
Two days until Santa: Part One arrives to our home in Kentucky.
One night until we have Christmas Eve early here in Lexington.
Twenty-eight neighbor gifts needing to be delivered.
A trip to Wal-mart and the Post Office on the to do list.
One-hundred Christmas cards needing to be picked up, addressed and mailed.
One meal for the missionaries that needs to be cooked.
Ten loads of laundry needing to be washed.
Five loads already clean needing to be folded.
Two beds needing to be made.
Five suitcases needing to be packed.
Three boys that need haircuts.
A house that needs to be vacuumed.
Countless presents needing to be wrapped.
A card for a brother in Taiwan needs to be written and mailed.
Five children that need to be loved.
A husband that needs a wife and attention.
One girl that needs some HELP and Christmas spirit.
I downloaded one of Amy Grant's new Christmas songs today. I think her words are exactly what I need. Especially NOW!
I've made the same mistake before
Too many malls, too many stores
December traffic, Christmas rush
It breaks me till I push and shove
Children are crying while mothers are trying
To photograph Santa and sleigh
The shopping and buying and standing forever in line
What can I say?
I need a silent night, a holy night
To hear an angel voice through the chaos and the noise
I need a midnight clear, a little peace right here
To end this crazy day with a silent night
December comes then disappears
Faster and faster every year
Did my own mother keep this pace
Or was the world a different place?
Where people stayed home wishing for snow
Watching three channels on their TV
Look at us now rushing around
Trying to buy Christmas peace
I need a silent night, a holy night
To hear an angel voice through the chaos and the noise
I need a midnight clear,a little peace right here
To end this crazy day with a silent night
What was it like back there in Bethlehem
With peace on earth, good will toward men?
Every shepherd's out in the field
Keeping watch over their clock by night
And the glory of the Lord shone around them
And they were so afraid
And the angels said fear not for behold
I bring you good news of a great joy that shall be for all people
For unto you is born this day a Savior, who is Christ the Lord
And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace
I need a silent night, a holy night
To hear an angel voice through the chaos and the noise
I need a midnight clear, a little peace right here
To end this crazy day with a silent night
To end this crazy day with a silent night

I wish I could help you with something. That list does seem extremely overwhelming.
We're in the middle of a giant storm here, which has been heaven. It is too dangerous on the roads to make a trek to a extended family party.....so I find myself with a bonus day and night. We're enjoying every minute of it. THIS is the way the days leading up to a holiday really should be....unfortunately it takes a major storm to make it happen.
Good luck, only you with your boundless energy and enthusiasm will be able to pull it off. Hope your early Christmas Eve and Christmas are a huge success.
Yikes. Glad I'm not you... :) Don't get overwhelmed Cheryl. If there's anyone that can pull it off it's you. You're too much like you're little angels on speed! You can do it! You're my hero!
Wow, I need a nap after reading that. :) You of all people can do it. I wish I could scrape off some of your DNA and put it in me! Then I'd be super-Jen!!
I loved your Christmas post too. You said it so perfectly Cheryl!! I love that song by Amy Grant. Really Cheryl I love your posts and am ALWAYS so impressed by you. You seriously are amazing and such a blessing to your family and friends. Thanks for your uplifting words and motivation to always be better, better, better...
Thinking of you and hoping you've had a few more hours of sleep than when I talked to you on Christmas. Have a great time with family!
