Brad and Jana

We were delighted this past week to have my younger brother Brad and his sweet wife Jana drive down from Milwaukee and spend a few days with us. It was a real vacation for all of us. Josh and Matt celebrated their 8th birthday on Monday, Brad was in between his 3rd and 4th year of medical school, Jana completed her school year of teaching 5th grade only two weeks ago, Rich had the weekend off and used a bonus day on Monday to spend the day with us in Cincinnati. It was go, go, go and we enjoyed every second together. Brad and Jana drove 7 hours from Milwaukee to Lexington on Saturday morning. They arrived around 1 PM. Brad just completed a month of general surgery, so he said the 4 AM alarm buzzer felt like part of his normal routine.
The girls had talked about Brad and Jana's visit for weeks non-stop and were so excited when they arrived.
I am four and a half years older than Brad.
Jana and I are due within a month of each other. Their baby girl Joslyn is due September 25. (Our baby boy is STILL nameless....)My brothers are so lucky to have married such amazing women. I am blessed to have them as a sister. On Saturday the boys went and played Laser Tag. This time it was Rich's turn to be negative points. His height and white shirt might have been the reason. The girls stayed home and Jana read the girls books, played with their doll house and we visited.Of course Josh insisted Brad brought his baseball mitt.
Kaitlyn loves to throw a ball too and never lets a good throwing opportunity go by without getting involved. Later that night we went swimming and played PS2 games. On Sunday evening after church, the girls and I took Brad and Jana on a driving tour of Lexington. I showed them the medical school, Rupp Arena, Mary Todd Lincoln's home, Ashland Estate, the Lexington Cemetery (which was closed), Thoroughbred Park and Keeneland. Brad said Keeneland was the best part of the tour.Monday we went to Newport Aquarium and Chili's in Cincinnati and Tuesaday we took a tour of Darley Horse Farm. We hated to see them leave on Tuesday afternoon. It went far too fast! Thanks Brad and Jana for coming down. We loved every second!
