Rookie Indians

Josh had his first official Rookie League (coach pitch) game on Tuesday night. He is on the Indians and plays first base.It was freezing cold, but we were dressed for the weather. The girls loved being at the ball park and excited to watch Josh play.Josh's head coach is on the far left. His name is Randy Holleran and played football at UK. Rich calls him a cartoon character and man, he's a riot. He has been wonderful to Josh, has been great about him not playing or practicing on Sunday and is just a happy, funny guy. I was nervous for Josh, but he was fantastic. He caught EVERY BALL that came his way. I was so proud. In fact, in the third inning he had an unassisted double play when he caught a pop fly and then touched first base when the runner was headed to second. The next batter hit a line drive to him which he scooped up and touched first. He got all three outs that inning. Man, it always feels great when your kids do well!!
He hit well, but the team never scored and we lost the game 8-0. No worries. We have two games a week until the middle of June. We've got lots of opportunities ahead!I remembered at the park today that I had better get a stash of cash since trips to the snack bar are a must. The kids were off to buy goodies. They came back with Ring Pops. The girls are in LOVE with them. Kaitlyn picked out a purple one, which is her favorite color.
And after Matt decided his red one wasn't that great, Brynn happily took over and devoured both- at the same time.

Welcome back baseball, you were missed!!!

Your kids are too cute. You're like on a posting marathon! How on earth do you find the time with the 390+ pages you need to record????
