Easter Baskets

The Easter Bunny did it again! That sneaky fella visited our house early Sunday morning and hid the baskets and left a trail of yarn that the kids had to follow to find them. While it was VERY HARD to navigate through the main floor, basement and garage, I know the boys look forward to this almost as much as Christmas. It's one tradition that will never die.Every child's name is on the table next to their spoon, so their is no confusion about which trail to follow.Rich said the massive amount of string this year was like a "Easter Basket Hunt on Steroids." I'll just say the bunny didn't realize how challenging it was going to be for the kids (or to walk through!).
The kids were delighted to see the Bunny had come! Brynn especially loved running through the yarn and had some serious yarn burns on her face and neck to prove it. Matt got an extra special prize after he wrote a letter to the Easter Bunny and left him a quarter. The Bunny wrote a note back and rewarded his kindness with a new Star Wars set he left in Matt's bed. There was no way we could have done the hunt before church, so the second we arrived home the boys were ready to begin.Brynn and Kaitlyn didn't enjoy winding the string around and didn't understand where their baskets were. Rich's helped Kaitlyn, while I helped Brynn. They did LOVE what they found at the end.
Kaitlyn had specifically asked the Bunny to bring a new Sleeping Beauty barbie doll. He didn't disappoint.
The boys wound and wound yarn inside and outside,in the basement, front yard , back yard, and garage.
They had quite the pile!Trey was the first to discover his basket in the basement in a huge box.He got a new Webkinz, PS2 Pirates of the Caribbean game and lots of candy.Josh was up next. His was secretly placed between two boxes! He got a Webkinz and Mario Party game for his Nintendo DS.Matt never gave up, even after the rest of his siblings had discovered their prizes. He wrapped yarn for over an HOUR! He finally found his in the garage. He got a new Webkinz and Lego Star Wars game for his Nintendo DS.
We are already looking forward to Easter next year!

I'm glad you posted pictures of the logistics. I was wondering how the kids know where to start and which string is theirs.

My boys would loved this.
