Jazz Game

Saturday, December 26, 2009
Salt Lake City, Utah
While I took the girls and the baby to see the lights at Temple Square, Rich took Trey, Josh and Matt to the Energy Solutions Center to watch the Jazz warm up. They were "bench warmers" and got autographs of the players and sat on the Jazz team bench. I sent my little camera with Rich so we could get pictures, but after he took one photo, the battery went dead. Sorry guys! They had a blast. They got a number of players autographs and Coach Jerry Sloane's too.We met Rich at will call to pick up our tickets and went up to the suite. For the past three years while we are home for Christmas, Rich's parents buy a suite for the game after Christmas. The entire family attends (kids and all) and we have food, ice cream, a bathroom and watch the game together. Rich's sister Julianne and her husband are members of the 100 Club. They have 4 front row (yes, you read that right, row ONE) season tickets, so everyone takes turns going down and sitting close. The only thing that separates you from the game are the photographs at your feet. It's crazy. The boys love it all. I love going to an event. We don't ever do things like this, so it's a big deal for me, too. The view from the suite. Some of Rich's family (Jenny and Ruby, Brynn and Kalle, Rich's mom and Dad, Rich and Danny)Matt with his "Bench Warmer" pass filled with autographs.Josh got this Derron Williams Utah Jazz Jersey the day before from Santa. He was thrilled to get #8 himself to sign it. (We brought a special silver Sharpie to the game.)Deron Williams at the game.Trey and Josh on the front row. Rich and Matt are on the second row, just behind them. How do you top an already AMAZING night? How about riding home in a stretch Hummer limo? Since we went up early to the game, we drove up in our car (well, Kurt's car, thank little bro!) and the rest of the family drove up to Salt Lake in serious style. The boys wanted to see what it was like riding in a limo, so Rich's mom and dad rode with us and we followed the cool ride until Lehi, where we switched riders so we could drive down to Salem. What a night!!! I just kept reminding the boys- no one does stuff like this! So enjoy it all, since it won't be happening again anytime soon!
