A lifelong highlight of summer: Salem Days. The Fun Run, a pancake, egg and sausage breakfast at Knoll Park served by the mayor and city council members. The parade that wraps around the pond. I love the fact you have to duck from getting whacked by thrown candy. Unforgettable time with family. It is always the second Saturday in August. I had only been lucky twice in the past decade to enjoy it, so I was thrilled to be there this year, and every year to come. Salem truly is the City of Peace.
